Enchanting Storybooks: Treasures With Educational Topics For Young Readers
This week, we are sharing Stick to the Script, Buzz and Ted’s World of Opposites, A Week of August Weather, and Rob and Rita Romp at the Rodeo!
Stick to Script – was created by our 101 – year old author, Francesca Malloy! Francesca was a teacher for many years and discovered the lost art of cursive writing and wants to share her small but precious book with all youngsters. Writing in cursive is an important skill because everyone should want to ‘sign their name!’ This book has the treasured nursery rhymes to keep the interest of the young learner and an activity page for them to practice writing themselves at their own pace. A treasure for every young child.
Buzz and Ted’s World of Opposites – was created by educator, Paula Curtis-Taylorson. This delightful book is filled with colorful pictures of two ‘real’ dogs Paula based the story on and compares the two very different dogs. This lovely book compares curly hair to strait hair, long to short, and more opposite words for the young reader to learn when they are not even aware they are learning!
A Week of August Weather – by the talented Moira Andrew is about a young girl who spends a week at the sea. This book teaches the days of the week as well as is a great picture book to inspire reading skills in our young learners. She sets out on Saturday and has adventures each day.
Rob and Rita Romp at the Rodeo – is an entertaining children’s picture book filled with colorful and cute pictures. This small, but charming book, references numbers, days of the week, colors, shapes, and more! The educational value is tremendous and the best thing is the young learner barely knows they’re learning as they enjoy reading about Rob and Rita’s adventure at the rodeo! Fun for everyone.
